Ode to a Mosquito
Once it was a mosquito
A Buzzy, fairy thing
A sprite of spindled legs
And filigree'd wing
Once it danced in sunlight
Above the tops of trees
Among a million of its kind
Living smoke upon the breeze
But now it's ceased to be
It isn't anything at all
Unless you count a splat!
Upon my bedroom wall.
